Simple Yet Effective Brain Hack

We deal with the wolves or lions (danger, war, etc) all the time in this world and they're a Big Deal. You know that saying - it takes a whole lotta attaboys to make up for one aw crap?" Same with situations. When we get addicted to big bursts of brain chemicals like when we gamble or use drugs or do something really exciting - it's reinforced because it's a Big Deal. We HAVE to make the small successes BIG DEALS in order to emphasize those and start a new autopilot of healthier behaviors. If we don't make them Big, our brains don't register them as important. So celebrate the simple, be silly about it, buy you a bell for $5 at a store, put an app with exciting noises, all this gets your power back to you instead of the external reinforcement. Examples of things to make Big:

*if you can walk, celebrate.

*if you were able to sleep or nap, celebrate.

*if you got out of bed, celebrate.

Even if they're things most people do - you're getting things done despite a whole lot of hell going on around you and/or within you. You got this. Make it BIG.
